Kathmandu Floral Tour
This is a magnificent off-the-beaten-path tour that takes you around unusual but unique destinations with floral and cultural significance in and out of the ancient Kathmandu valley…we revel in what we see and this invokes our spiritual senses…and stirs the soul from deep within…this tour will captivate your heart…
Most would agree that the true essence of beauty is seen in that single thing that every human being loves to behold – ‘FLOWERS’’- this is the primary focus of our tour that mingles exquisite colors and fragrance of floral delights with heritage sites as we hear the clanging of bells in ancient temples calling upon the gods to relieve the souls of an ornamental society growing by the day. We hike through the howling souks of the market place in medieval Kathmandu where those with a sharp mind of history and anthropology will observe that as much as this capital valley strives to keep up with contemporary times, traditions and culture hereabouts simply refuse to keep up with time. The tourist attractions in the valley are baffling as much as it delights viewers looking for the extraordinary; but we are soon relieved [depending on whether you’ve had enough] as soon as we head out to The Godawari Botanical Gardens that sweetly sit at the feet of the Phulchowki Hills which immediately brings us some respite from the hustling and bustling that is kathmandu today. The vast array of different flower species in these lovely gardens that intermingles with its perfumed ambience is simply sensational; a complete tranquility captures your mood and the merry chirping of rare birds’ species stirs your imaginations to the core as they welcome you into their charming homes. Godawari is also a birdies paradise for bird watchers…YOU MAY NOT HAVE ENOUGH OF THIS LOVELY GARDEN, virtually!!
We also visit the semi-urban regions of Sankhu, a quiet ancient and sleepy Newari town that lies on the outskirts of Kathmandu. But before this we visit Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath stupa in Kathmandu and the site of rich Nepalese artistic displays of olden times, Patan Durbar Square. Our trip also covers the sublime hill resort of Nagarkot that is known for its stunning sunrise, sunsets and special tranquility; the natural beauty hereabouts is a haven for poets and Nagarkot is also said to be Asia’s topmost destination for honeymoon couples who yearn for those moments of privacy and quiet.
Throughout the whole course of your cultural journey, you come upfront with more of a Nepal of yesterday than today. An excursion to Godawari and a day hike to quiet Sankhu enlightens you as you wander through ‘God’s Garden’ and stumble upon a beauty that would, by far, out do King Solomon of the Bible in all his colorful power and riches. Incentive Holidays will escort you on this regal tour in a way that will illuminate your vacation for years to come…

We begin our guided sightseeing tour with a visit to Boudhanath - the largest stupa in Nepal and a centrepoint of Tibetan culture in Kathmandu. The stupa is designed in the shape of a giant mandala (assumed to be a representation of the Buddhist cosmos). Our next destination is Pashupatinath Temple. This temple is dedicated to Hindu deity Shiva, regarded as the most sacred Hindu shrine in Nepal. Hereabouts, visitors will get to see cremation rituals of Hindus at ‘Aryaghat’, the cremation area of the temple. Cremations here are done for Nepal’s royalty and the common Nepalese of the country. We next head down to Patan Durbar Square which offers an assortment of wooden arts in the monumental historic complexes which reflect the architectural influences of a medieval age found all over the valley.
A unique spot of interests are the artistic wooden carvings depicting the sutras of Lord Kamadeva (god of sex) dotted throughout the big and small pagoda style temples in the by lanes of this old city. Patan Durbar Square is said to be among the richest culturally and historically of all the other durbar squares of the valley. At eventide, we’ll drive back to our hotel in the city.
Day 3: An excursion of Botanical Garden and drive to Nagarkot
After breakfast, we head out for a scenic cruise down to the Botanical Gardens in Godawari. Based 11 km east of Lalitpur (Patan), Godawari is an exotic floral paradise. This gorgeous garden is an emblem of beauty, surrounded by green hillocks with an environ that’s almost heavenly. The serene landscapes and verdant vegetation of the park coupled with the refreshing water of Godawari is near to bliss in comparison to the Kathmandu Valley. We wrap up our ‘God’s Garden’’ exploration with some boating along with some swans [if they are around] in the small Godavari Pond and then head down to the famous hill resort of Nagarkot via the ancient cities of Patan and Bhaktapur. Overnight at the honeymoon hill town of Nagarkot

Early in the morning after a few cuppers, we go out for a glance of the most jaw-dropping sight of an early morning sunrise in Nagarkot. We get grand views of some of the tallest peaks on earth. We then head back to our villa for a delicious breakfast, after which, we hit the trails for a short hike to Sankhu. As we hike down the trails, we experience rich cultural settings and heart throbbing scenery. After this rendezvous with nature, we will drive back to our hotel in Kathmandu for the night.

Most tourists’ based hotels and resorts are sensitive to the hygienic requirements in the preparation of all food and beverage items when catering to tourists’ visiting Nepal.
If you come to Nepal and have a flexible schedule, then take the time to visit these places. Nepal always has something to offer its guests. During the peak season (October to December) and (mid of February to May), the stunning panorama of the Himalayas is at its crisp-beautiful-best, but there is really no season in which Nepal is not a beautiful or pleasant place to visit.
